Definition

Investments which are held by the company for more than 12 months or are not intended to be realized within 12 months from the reporting date.

Recognition Criteria

Recognized under AS 13 when the transaction is completed (settlement/trade date) and the company acquires ownership/rights of the securities.

Measurement Principles

Carried at cost. However, provision for diminution shall be made to recognize a decline, other than temporary, in the value of the investments (evaluated individually).
