Schedule III, Part I — Division I (Section J) — FY 2025-26Definition
An identifiable non-monetary asset without physical substance, held for use in the production or supply of goods or services, for rental to others, or for administrative purposes.
Recognition Criteria
Recognized under AS 26 when: (a) it is probable that future economic benefits attributable to the asset will flow to the enterprise; and (b) the cost of the asset can be measured reliably.
Measurement Principles
Initially measured at cost. Subsequently measured at cost less accumulated amortization and accumulated impairment losses. Internally generated goodwill is NEVER capitalized.
